I was so happy to have some Primrose friends visit the SLRI booth to make a bookmark at the Read Across America event hosted at the Warwick Mall on Saturday. ALP artists should be proud of the banner they created during their recesses which attracted so many readers! If you didn't make it to the first event, join NEARI in celebrating Read Across America on March 16th. Come as your favorite book character!
Can't get to the library? Looking to read some books during the snow day? Try Ezra Jack Keats' classic at WeGiveBooks.org! You can access the eBook here: http://www.wegivebooks.org/books/the-snowy-day/reader If you enjoyed The Snowy Day or any other book you've read recently, write a review for the Barrington Book Blog! Just click "Submit a Review" to share your thoughts about a book that you love. Check out the Prezi created by Nayatt Library Teacher, Cherylann Bertoncini! Check out this wonderful birthday cake created by one of our parent volunteers and aspiring baker, Elaine Van Leer. A great book and an even better dessert!
This past week Mr. Sangiuliano, Miss O'Kane, and 22 2nd grade students and their parents gathered before school to talk books! We all loved the story "Extra Yarn" by Mac Barnett. We appreciated it for its themes of generosity and inclusion, in addition to its fantastic illustrations by Jon Klassen (You may recognize his work from "This is Not My Hat").
If you or your child is in 2nd or 3rd grade, consider joining us for our next meeting! Visit our online flyer for more information: https://www.smore.com/ufbj A big thank you to one of our volunteers and library teachers-in-training, Jennie Grant, who undertook a large collection improvement project.
